Pet Rules & Information

It has come to the Board’s attention that several residents of the community are not following proper rules and regulations regarding pets within the community. As a reminder, all residents must adhere to the following rules for everyone’s safety and well-being:

  1. Pet owners are expected to comply with all local leash laws. Pet play areas have been provided for all residents; however, we have received reports of residents allowing pets to run loose within open areas of the community. Please note that per Prince George’s County Animal Control, it is against the law for the owner or custodian of any animal to allow the animal to run at-large. Any dog or cat that is found at-large may be impounded.
  2. Please note that front and side lawns are for the exclusive use of the adjacent townhouse owner. Pets are not to be walked across front or side lawns unless they are your own. Do not allow pets in these areas. For more information on this, please click here.
  3. All pet excrement must be picked up. Do not drop bags of excrement and leave them behind! Please dispose of them properly in the pet waste stations that have been installed throughout the community. If any pet waste station is full or in need of bags, please notify management and kindly dispose of the waste in a different waste station or trash can so the waste stations do not overflow.
  4. We want all Uplands residents to be able to live harmoniously with each other, so please be mindful of any unnecessary noises caused by your pets. If your pet is prone to making excessive noises, please do not leave them outside, unattended.
  5. When weather starts to get cooler, please remember that all domestic animals are prohibited from being kept outdoors when the effective outdoor wind chill index is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If you’re cold, they’re cold, bring them inside!

We are counting on your support to keep Uplands HOA a peaceful environment for all who reside.
